Charge: Domestic Violence Battery

Facts:  The defendant was staying with her father and step mother.  At the end of the trip, it was alleged that the defendant tried to steal her father's bicycle and then attacked her father.  The police were called and the defendant was arrested.  Photographs were taken of the injuries sustained by the father.

Outcome:  Mr. Sobel took depositions of both the father and step mother.  Mr. Sobel was able to find various inconsistencies in the stories between the father and step mother.  Mr. Sobel filed a Motion to Dismiss based up on the Stand Your Ground law.  The office of the State Attorney dismissed the charges prior to the hearing on the Motion to Dismiss.
